CDA Events

Fundraising Tea:

We host an annual tea to fundraise for The Magdalene Home in Medford and the Fr. Taaffe Homes in Salem for homeless pregnant or parenting young mothers. In addition to hosting the tea, members seek items for gift baskets and sell tickets after Masses for parishioners to enter to win a basket. Members also help bake scones, cookies or make tea sandwiches for the tea.

Used Treasures Sale

We conduct an annual Used Treasures Sale, typically held in June at St. Mary’s Catholic Church’s gym. We ask parishioners to contribute anything they’d like to donate to our sale. Members help with pricing, displaying and running the sale.

Estate Sales

Often parishioners ask us to host estate sales for a family member who is downsizing or has passed. Members help with pricing, displaying and running the sale.

Gift Shop

We run a gift shop in the Gathering Space of St. Mary’s Catholic Church. Members can sign up for a shift to help with sales as well as help with pricing and displaying merchandise in the display cases.

Bake Sales

We host several bake sales throughout the year to help fundraise for our local and national charities that we support as well as supporting specific projects for the church.

Thanksgiving and Christmas Baskets & Gifts of Flowers

Our members help contribute to assist parishioners by providing a basket of food, gift certificates or presents for families who are in need. Our “Sunshine Lady” along with other members distribute flowers during some of our major holidays to those that are in retirement homes or no longer are able to leave their homes due to age or illness to brighten their day, along with a handwritten Thinking of You note.

Other activities: Throughout the year, we host family game nights, social receptions for Confirmations or those joining the church, Funerals receptions, soup suppers during Lent, etc.
